Dear friend;
This morning our dear Debora Cordeiro passed away. She was a worker of the Peace and Knowledge Spiritist Center of Orlando and an avid collaborator of the Spiritist Movement in the U.S.A. Debora was part of the U.S. Spiritist Council Board of Directors from 2009 to 2012. As a loving person she has always been, she spent a great part of her short life disseminating Spiritism and helping everyone and anyone wherever and whenever she could. As a professor of the University of Central Florida, throughout the years Debora spent her long summer school breaks practicing the charity she so much believed in by being a volunteer in several volunteer projects around the world. Those of us who had the pleasure of being close to her, will most certainly miss her presence in our lives. A presence always surrounded by smiles and kindness.
Today, at around 2:00 AM, our precious friend was freed from her ill physical body while at sleep. As they say, "she fought the good fight" and after coming back from a first chemotherapy 3 years ago she was once again struck by a brain tumor that just would not budge. As Spiritists we find consolation in these moments of sorrow because we know exactly why something like this would happen to someone like Debora, and because she also had this same understanding, she was able to keep her faith strong till the end of this reincarnation.
We would like to recognize all of our friends from the Spiritist Movement of Orlando for having extended a hand to Debora during this long journey. We also send our thanks and prayers to her fiance who she loved dearly and her mother and sisters who stood by her, disrupting their own lives in Brazil and England to assist Debora in her times of struggle.
May us continue to pray for her and to think of her with happiness in our hearts, knowing that she accomplished exactly what she was set out to do here this time around, with understanding and resignation in her soul.
